About this event
You feel stuck in the routines of life.
On paper, things are good enough, but something's missing.
You thought that if you hit that goal you’ve been working towards, you’d be happy.
Mindfulness and self-care are great, but they don't quite cultivate the joy you’re searching for.
It was so easy when you were a kid, getting lost in your imagination…
But then you “had to grow up and be productive.”
Now it feels like your value is always being measured by your output.
And you’re an overachiever, so you keep pushing, keep striving, keep shining like the star you are.
You’re exhausted, doing all the things, trying to keep up.
You’re more intentional nowadays, trying to stay hydrated, prioritizing your well-being in ways early-20s-you could NEVER!
How long has it been since you had fun?
And I’m not talking about “getting a lil treat” because you deserve it. (You do though!)
And I don’t mean doing an activity that is supposed to be fun but you always feel exhausted and drained after!
I’m talking about the good stuff…
Doing something for the sake of it, the kind of fun where you are so entangled in what you were doing that time is irrelevant!
It unlocks an inner joy and contentment that’s only accessed when you throw out the rules and allow yourself to take action with overthinking.
It’s time to give yourself Permission to PLAY!
What to expect in class:
Discussion about the power of play, especially as an adult
Exercises to drop shame around the act of playfulness
Guided experimental activities to practice expressive art making
Safe space to create freely for the sake of creation itself
Place to promote social bonding with your neighbors and community
We will be working with materials like markers, color pencils, paper, scissors, tape, glue, etc.
All supplies needed for the activities will be available to use in class! Feel free to bring photos, magazine clippings, or other collage elements if you want!
All ability levels are welcome. Please let me know ahead of time if you need any special accommodations. I am happy to make any modifications needed to support you!
